Brit Marling and Alexander Skarsgård are generating anarchy—not to mention major heat—in The East.

“She is this spy and she goes in this group made up of anarchists, and she is moved by the leader, who is played by Alexander, so we have some steamy love scenes,” revealed Marling.

As for kissing Skarsgård, Marling added she had no complaints. “If we want to do a sequel that’s just kissing Alexander, I would be totally fine by that!” she said with a laugh.

For his part, Alexander told E! News he was drawn to the script for more intellectual reasons, such as the lack of corporate and government accountability in today’s society.

“What I loved about the way it was written was that it’s about a woman that works for a corporation and she infiltrates the group. But it’s not like she worked for the bad evil corporations and she fought side by side with them and she lived happily ever after,” he notes. “It’s much more in-depth than that. They don’t agree on everything within the group, and that is why it raised so many questions of morality.”

Skarsgård also gave E! News a preview of what’s in store for his bloodsucking alter ego, Eric Northman, onTrue Blood“He is doing some evil stuff this year,” the thesp revealed with a smile, adding that it’s been fun dabbling in Eric’s darker side.

The East hits theaters on May 31, while True Blood’s new season debuts on HBO June 16.

Alexander Skarsgård on Cooking Beef Bourguignon and Eating Food Off the Floor
Brit [Marling] says that you’re actually a fabulous cook.I enjoy it. What’s my thang? It’s different to cook for these guys, because they’re all vegans. I like to cook stews like beef bourguignon and coq au vin. I made them a lot of pasta and veggies. Zal [Batmanglij] and Brit had a house in Shreveport [Louisiana], and we would go and hang out there on weekends. We would hang out and cook and drink wine and dance and occasionally get some work done.
One of the interesting ideas the film brings up is how much food is wasted in this country. Do you have a rule for how long food is on the floor before you don’t eat it?I come from a very big, large family with tons of kids, so I’m pretty used to eating off the floor. With seven siblings, you grab whatever you can. We throw away so much good food in this country, and we don’t even think about how much we waste. We’ve created a society where we consume so much — not just food, but everything. And I’m not judging. I’m part of that system. It’s good to be aware of it.
I’m hoping Eric gets something to do with the whole Warlow conspiracy on True Blood. We’re shooting the last two episodes, and he might get involved in that. We’ll see. I’ve had a great time this year. It’s a big war going on. Humans are fighting back. They’ve figured out a way to actually be a real threat to vampires. They’ve always just been food to Eric. So, for the first time, he’s got to fight.

Look at how this doofus flirts

Alexander Skarsgard, Ellen Page, Patricia Clarkson and the cast of The East celebrated the film with a dinner at New York’s Stanton Social on Monday.
Though many of his fellow diners enjoyed gluten-free and vegan options, Skarsgard was “all about the meat and beer,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “He lightly flirted with his waitress. Pointing at his Brooklyn Lager, he asked, ‘Miss, could you bring me another fine brew just like this one?’”
The source adds that Skarsgard – who always appeared to have a beer in hand – had a great time joking with castmates, eating and dancing as DJ Omari Toomer spun tunes.

But it obviously works on da ladies

Around 2 a.m. Tuesday, “Disconnect” actor Alexander Skarsgard connected with a blond at Cafe Select who approached him while he was texting. Skarsgard didn’t seem too into her, but he soon moved on to a dark-haired woman who playfully “hushed” him at one point. Finally he found a blond who did catch his interest, and they headed to Spring Lounge around 3:15 a.m. When the bar closed an hour later, our snoop watched as the pair made their way to Skarsgard’s downtown hotel.

Wherein Alex gives his reaction to the last Sookie Stackhouse book…

The Lady Miz Diva: Are you aware of the controversy surrounding the last Sookie Stackhouse book and Eric’s fate?
Alexander Skarsgård: No? What’s the controversy?
LMD: What happens to him?
AS: No, I haven’t read it. He bites the bullet?
LMD: No, it’s worse…
AS: It’s worse?
LMD: Well, maybe. He ends up as a sex slave to the queen.
*Three full seconds of stunned, open-mouthed silence*
AS: Ohmigod! That’s in my future, huh? {Laughs} The queen is dead.
LMD: There’s another one.
AS: Another queen? I can be a sex slave, that’s fine.
LMD: The fans are rather upset about it for Eric’s sake.
AS: So, Eric’s a sex slave and she {Sookie} ends up with Bill…
LMD: Nope, it’s Sam.
AS: Wow, I didn’t see that coming.
LMD: Neither did a lot of the fandom, apparently. There’s been a huge upset on the internet with other authors getting involved to defend Charlaine Harris against the outcry.
AS: No, I didn’t know anything about it. That can’t be the end. There’s gotta be another book, right?
LMD: There’s supposed to be a short epilogue coming.
AS: Ahh, there you go. I knew there had to be more. Well, what number is this one, book 12 or 13?
LMD: It’s book 13.
AS: Hah! So, I don’t have to worry. We’re not going to get around to shooting it for about 8 more years.

With humans closing in on them, the vampires of Bon Temps will resort to desperate measures on the upcoming sixth season of HBO’s True Blood – and it sounds like some of them may even be crossing over to the dark side! “[Eric’s] doing some evil stuff this year, some stuff that’s not so nice,” Alexander Skarsgard told HollywoodLife.com on May 20 at Piaget’s screening of Fox Searchlight’s The East in NYC.
“I like them both,” he told us about ‘good’ Eric and ‘evil’ Eric. “It’s fun to go back and forth, you get to play around with both sides. It’s always more interesting than one extreme or the other … when you have both within, and it’s an internal struggle.”
We’ve seen Eric commit some pretty seedy acts — remember when he killed Talbot while having sex with him? — and Alexander promised there’s plenty more where that came from. Though he admitted that Eric’s temporary season-four amnesia “affected him in a way,” he said Eric’s still going to be up to his old tricks.
“You’ll see this season he’s doing some pretty nasty stuff,” he told us. “It’s not all good.”
